(973) 481-0415Our Youth Leadership Development Program has provided recreational and leadership activities for Newark youth for more than forty years. The North Ward Center runs the largest youth leadership development program in the City of Newark.
The year-round program includes instructional clinics and teaches hands-on athletic development, teamwork skills, character development, and sportsmanship through various organized sports including:
- Youth Basketball (4-15 years of age)
- Sparkle Spirit Squad (7-15 years of age)
- Little League Baseball and Softball (4-15 years of age)
- Cross Country (11-15 years of age)
Selected Little League participants also have the opportunity to travel and participate in national and international tournaments.
In addition to running the various sports leagues and programs, we maintain the athletic fields at the Stephen N. Adubato Sports Complex in Branch Brook Park.
